About the Style:

Afro Beat is a fun upbeat dance style that mixes Hip Hop, Jazz, and popular African dance moves. A lot of the moves come from Nigeria and South Africa, It focuses on intricate footwork and groove. It's a new unique style that allows you to move in a different way.

About the Teacher:

Veeva Banga is a South Sudanese dancer. She has honed a passion for sharing her cultural dance with people locally. She is a talented dancer that has an opportunity to play with a mix of styles in Afro Beat that can offer a different approach to dance in Maine. She has taught at local studios like Bright Star World Dance Studio, Living Room Dance Collective, Casco Bay Movers, Mayo Street Arts and many more. She's also instructed dance at almost all Portland Public Schools.
